Car Crash Ward Texas in Ward, Texas: Two men died in a three-vehicle crash about 7 a.m. on June 27, 2026, on Farm-to-Market Road 3398 near mile marker 353 in Ward County, Texas, according to DPS. Jose Antonio Castillo, 21, of Pecos, a passenger in one of the vehicles, and Richard Gerard Ritter, 57, of West Palm Beach, Florida, a driver, were pronounced dead at the scene. DPS said a 2021 Ford F-150 was traveling east and a 2016 Nissan Rogue was traveling west when the Nissan steered hard right to avoid a head-on collision, traveled off the roadway and struck a metal utility pole. The drivers of the Ford and Nissan were injured and transported by EMS to different hospitals. The crash remains under investigation.
