Car Crash Rural Dakota Nebraska in rural Dakota, Nebraska: Two people were killed in a head-on crash just before 7:30 a.m. Monday in rural Dakota County, Nebraska, near 210th Street and Highway 77 between Homer and Dakota City. Witnesses told the Dakota County Sheriff's Office that a Chevy Malibu was driving north in the southbound lanes of Highway 77 when the collision occurred. The 33-year-old driver of the Malibu from South Sioux City was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 46-year-old driver of the Ford Edge from South Sioux City was life-flighted to a hospital where she died of her injuries. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol and several local rescue units.
