Car Crash Florida Today in Florida: A 48-year-old man driving a 2026 Tesla south on Florida's Turnpike was struck from behind by a southbound semi-truck driven by a 42-year-old Gainesville man, just south of the Palm City exit at Martin Downs Boulevard. A pickup with a car hauler trailer driven by a 47-year-old Coconut Creek man then crashed with debris in the northbound lanes. The Tesla driver and an 18-year-old rear-seat passenger were pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m. The crash, reported at 3:13 p.m. on June 29, involved four vehicles and closed the Turnpike in both directions before reopening later that evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
