A pickup with a car hauler trailer driven by a 47-year-old Coconut Creek man then crashed with debris in the northbound lanes. The Tesla driver and an 18-year-old rear-seat passenger were pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m. The crash, reported at 3:13 p.m. on June 29, involved four vehicles and closed the Turnpike in both directions before reopening later that evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
