Assault Delaware Today in Delaware: On May 22, 2026, at approximately 6:27 p.m., New Castle County Division of Police officers responded to the Iron Hill Apartments in the unit block of Brookedge Court for a reported attempted robbery. The victim had arranged to meet with two 17-year-old males; one suspect allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded money, then struck the victim in the head with the handgun when the victim refused. Both suspects fled before officers arrived. A 17-year-old male from Newark was taken into custody on June 1 and charged with Attempted Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree; a second 17-year-old male from Newark was arrested on June 17 and charged with Attempted Robbery First Degree, Aggravated Menacing, Conspiracy Second Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and Assault Third Degree.
