Rear-end crash pushes Dodge Dart onto tracks; train strikes…

Car Crash Iowa Today in Iowa: A 2016 Dodge Dart driven by 29-year-old George Makulu of Marshalltown was stopped at a flashing-light railroad crossing on Highway T12 N near N 39th Ave E in Jasper County when it was struck from behind by a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by 24-year-old Eric Ramos-Lucas of Marshalltown. The Dart spun 180 degrees onto the tracks and was hit by a westbound Iowa Interstate Railroad locomotive. Makulu jumped from the moving vehicle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries; he was transported to MercyOne Newton Medical Center. Ramos-Lucas was uninjured and declined medical attention. The Jasper County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
