Car Crash Exceeding Safe Speed North Carolina in exceeding safe speed, North Carolina: North Carolina State Highway Patrol arrested Wimandre Anton Hendricks, 33, of Raleigh, on charges including felony involuntary manslaughter, misdemeanor death by vehicle, and exceeding a safe speed after a fatal crash Sunday night on Interstate 87. The crash killed Derick Dewayne Wright and seriously injured Dante Moliek Barnes. Troopers said Hendricks was driving at a speed greater than reasonable under rainy conditions, and that violations including reckless driving, driving without a license, expired inspection, and unsafe tires were the proximate cause of Wright's death. Hendricks refused a blood alcohol test and has prior traffic offenses including a 2019 DWI charge.
