Shooting Nine Months Ago New York in Nine months ago, New York: Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz and NYPD announced the arrests of nearly 30 members of two rival gangs — the Blitz Gang 4 and the Floss Money Ballers — responsible for a wave of shootings across Southeast Queens and the Rockaways dating back to 2023. The Blitz gang, a Bloods subset based out of the Baisley Park Houses in South Jamaica, was linked to 11 shootings and a stabbing that wounded three people, including one man left paralyzed. Five other reputed gang members were arrested for a Rockaways shooting spree in March and April that wounded two people, including a pedestrian struck in the foot. The violence escalated after 18-year-old Akim Cisse was shot and killed by reputed Blitz member Rayvon Phillip outside a Springfield Gardens McDonald's in September 2024.
