Semi Truck Crash Colorado State Patrol Colorado in Colorado State Patrol, Colorado: A pursuit caused a crash and closure of the eastbound lanes of I-70 on the morning of June 30, 2026. According to the Colorado State Patrol, Idaho Springs police attempted to contact the driver of a Mitsubishi Endeavour on a theft-related "Be On The Lookout" alert, and the driver fled. The driver entered I-70 westbound in the eastbound lanes, sideswiped a Toyota Camry, and forced the Camry into a Kenworth semi whose fuel tank ruptured and leaked diesel. Clear Creek County deputies stopped the vehicle after roughly 20 miles and took the driver into custody; the Endeavour driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported.
