Pilot dies in plane crash at Mercer County Regional Airport…
Aircraft Hazen North Dakota in Hazen, North Dakota: A 67-year-old Minot man died on Sunday, June 28, when the 1960 Piper plane he was flying crashed at the Mercer County Regional Airport at Hazen. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the aircraft was observed taking off around 1:45 p.m. and shortly afterward was seen attempting to return to the runway with its landing gear redeployed before losing altitude and impacting the ground. The pilot died from injuries sustained in the crash, and his name had not yet been released. The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota State Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration.
