Car Crash Initial Texas in initial, Texas: Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, died early Sunday after a commercial truck struck her while she directed traffic at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 45 near The Woodlands Parkway exit. Deputies were managing traffic around an initial collision involving a suspected impaired driver when the commercial truck pulling a trailer entered the crash area, struck Serrato, and crashed into two marked sheriff's vehicles with emergency lights activated. Serrato was transported to a hospital, where she died from her injuries. Another deputy suffered minor injuries from debris and was treated and released, and the commercial truck driver was also taken to a hospital.
