Assault Mexico Missouri in Mexico, Missouri: Darrell Robert Smith, 42, of Mexico, Missouri, was arrested and charged with armed criminal action and second-degree assault after a stabbing on the morning of June 29, 2026. The victim, 57-year-old James Todd Kesler, suffered serious physical injuries from a cutting tool and was airlifted to University Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition. Mexico Public Safety Department officers responded to the reported stabbing at approximately 10:08 a.m. in the 700 block of South Singleton.
