Assault Austin Texas in Austin, Texas: A man was stabbed multiple times at Bob's Steak & Chop House at 301 Lavaca St. in Downtown Austin around 10:30 p.m. on June 27, 2026. Investigators believe the victim had been dining with friends when 45-year-old Edward Koubek, known to him through a local church, approached and attacked him with a steak knife. Witnesses restrained Koubek until he fled to the back of the restaurant, where Austin Police Department officers detained him. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
