Aircraft Washington New York in Washington, New York: A JetBlue Airways passenger jet on final approach to John F. Kennedy International Airport reported colliding with a drone at approximately 3,000 feet altitude around 7:15 a.m. The pilot told the tower the drone struck the aircraft above the cockpit. JetBlue said the flight landed normally and a post-flight inspection found no damage or evidence of collision. The same day, a helicopter flying from JFK to Manhattan reported a near-collision with a remote-controlled model airplane near Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. The FAA is investigating.
