Hiker dies on Bear Canyon Trail in Sabino Canyon

Deputies and Rural Metro responded to the Bear Canyon Trail after a 911 hang-up around 7:30 a.m., and a hiker called 911 after locating a woman's body about 1 1/2 miles from the trailhead. The 66-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Pinal County Sheriff's Office helicopter was used to lift the body out due to the remote location, and the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
