Father of 5 drowns trying to save his children from Cahaba…

Drowning Dakota Alabama in Dakota, Alabama: Israel Manual Montecino-Navarro, 35, drowned Sunday afternoon while trying to save several of his children from the Cahaba River at the Cahaba Blue Way River Canoe Launch in Jefferson County, Alabama. Authorities say the children had become submerged in deep water while wading, and the father, who did not know how to swim, also became submerged and never resurfaced. Irondale Fire and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office found his body in the water after deploying drone teams. His children survived the incident, and the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
