Car Crash Arias'S California in Arias's, California: The California Highway Patrol identified 27-year-old Santa Maria resident Gary Noe Arias as the man killed in a vehicle crash late Tuesday night on southbound Highway 101 just south of San Luis Bay Drive near Pismo Beach. Arias was driving a 2020 Toyota Tacoma at an unknown speed when, for an unknown reason, the truck turned right, left the roadway and overturned. A 1991 BMW 535i traveling southbound at 65 mph did not see the disabled overturned truck and struck it; the 73-year-old BMW driver sustained minor to moderate injuries and showed no signs of impairment. Arias sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in Arias's crash, and the incident remained under investigation.
