Driver faces vehicular homicide charges after DeSoto County…

Dui Crash Florida Today in Florida: A 27-year-old Arcadia man was killed in a DeSoto County crash on Monday at approximately 4:46 a.m. on NE Turner Avenue near Fiveash Street. Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Brian Esteban Capote, 30, was driving a Ford Mustang at a high rate of speed and did not take evasive action before crashing into the Toyota Tacoma driven by the 27-year-old victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Capote was taken to an area hospital and faces charges of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, and driving while his license was suspended involving a death. He was booked into the DeSoto County Jail, and the crash remains under investigation.
