Bicycle Crash Palatka Florida in Palatka, Florida: A 27-year-old Gainesville woman riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a 2020 Kia Forte on St. Johns Avenue in Putnam County on the evening of June 29, 2026. The 35-year-old East Palatka man driving the Kia swerved into the left side of the two-lane roadway and collided with the cyclist, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The driver then fled the scene on foot. The identities of both the driver and the cyclist were not released in the FHP report.
