Car Crash Houston Texas in Houston, Texas: Houston Police responded to a fatal work zone incident on the southbound Gulf Freeway near the Dixie Farm Road exit at approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 28, 2026. A highway construction crew was setting up a lane closure when a Scorpion impact-attenuator truck, which was backing up as part of the operation, struck one of the construction workers. The worker was fatally run over and died at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and is employed by the same construction company as the victim; Houston Police are continuing to investigate.
