Abel Abeyta shot, dies after SUV crashes into Clovis home

Car Crash Clovis New Mexico in Clovis, New Mexico: A 28-year-old man, Abel Abeyta, was found with multiple gunshot wounds after a white SUV crashed into a Clovis home late on June 29. Police said dispatch received an emergency call at about 11:06 p.m. about a vehicle that had crashed into a home near 14th and Hull streets. Abeyta was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center and later transferred to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where he died from his injuries. Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, and police said the person involved in the shooting has been identified and interviewed.
