The 64-year-old Thousand Oaks driver attempted a right turn through the parking lot, failed to negotiate it, jumped the curb, struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk, and continued into the restaurant's patio. The pedestrian was trapped beneath the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and one of four juvenile passengers were transported to hospitals; police said the crash was not intentional and are investigating speed, impairment, or mechanical issues.
