Car Crash Lantana Florida in Lantana, Florida: Richard Preston, 77, of suburban Lake Worth, died June 28, 2026, from injuries suffered in a crash 18 days earlier. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Preston was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee south through a parking lot on the 6000 block of South Congress Avenue, just south of the Lantana airport, on June 10 when he hit the gas instead of the brake and struck a tree. Preston suffered leg and head injuries in the crash and died at 6:45 a.m. on June 28. The PBSO crash report does not state where Preston died or his speed at impact.
