Car Crash Lake Worth Florida in Lake Worth, Florida: Richard L. Preston, 77, of Lake Worth died on June 28, 2026, from injuries sustained in a crash that occurred on June 10, 2026, in Lake Worth, Florida. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Preston was driving a 2017 Jeep south through a parking lot on the west side of a property south of Lantana Road when he mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. The Jeep jumped a curb and crashed head-on into a palm tree, causing heavy damage to the vehicle. Preston suffered leg and head injuries and was treated at the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel before later dying at 6:45 a.m. on June 28. PBSO's Vehicle Homicide Investigations Unit was notified of the delayed fatality on June 30.
