Drowning Lake Powell Kane Utah in Lake Powell KANE, Utah: A 30-year-old man died by drowning at Lake Powell on Friday after he and a woman jumped into the water to swim without life jackets and strong winds blew their boat away from them. The National Park Service used sonar to locate his body about 30 feet deep, and a dive team recovered it Saturday morning. The Kane County Sheriff's Office is calling the death a drowning, pending autopsy results from the state medical examiner.
