30-year-old Kearns man drowns while swimming at Lake Powell…

Drowning Lake Powell Kane Utah in Lake Powell KANE, Utah: Vi-Thien Ha, 30, of Kearns, drowned while swimming in Wahweep Bay near Castle Rock Cut at Lake Powell on Friday, June 26, 2026. Ha and a 25-year-old Logan woman had stopped their boat to swim when he went under. The Kane County Sheriff's Office responded, and a National Park Service dive team recovered Ha's body from about 30 feet of water on June 27. He was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy and cause of death determination.
