Assault Coldwater Michigan in Coldwater, Michigan: A 21-year-old Coldwater man, identified as Brandon Velasquez Chavez, was fatally stabbed by a co-worker on Monday evening at the Clemens Food Group meat processing facility in Coldwater, Michigan. According to Coldwater Public Safety, witnesses reported Chavez and the co-worker became involved in a verbal argument while working near each other inside the plant, after which the suspect allegedly stabbed Chavez in the back. Deputies with the Branch County Sheriff's Office arrived and detained the suspect, and medics from LifeCare Ambulance and the Coldwater Fire Department attempted lifesaving measures before Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the stabbing.
