Car Crash Flushing New York in Flushing, New York: A 13-year-old boy identified as Christopher Cabrera of College Point was killed on June 29, 2026, while riding as a passenger on a 2024 ZNEN scooter in Flushing, Queens. The scooter, operated by another 13-year-old, swerved to avoid the open door of a parked 2007 Honda CRV on 162nd Street near 46th Avenue, causing the passenger to fall into the roadway where he was struck by a northbound 2015 Hino Truck. EMS transported both teens to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where the passenger was pronounced dead and the operator was listed in critical condition. The truck driver and the CRV driver remained at the scene and were not injured; no arrests had been made as of Tuesday.
