Dui Crash Plainfield Illinois in Plainfield, Illinois: A Freightliner box truck overturned in Plainfield after a white Lexus sedan, driven by an 18-year-old who had been drinking, ran a red light at the intersection of Route 59 and 119th Street. The truck was heading southbound on Route 59 when the Lexus, traveling west on 119th Street in the eastbound lane, struck it, causing the semi to overturn and take down a pole holding traffic signals. The Freightliner driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized; two of the four Lexus occupants suffered similar injuries and one was hospitalized. The 18-year-old Lexus driver was cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed, disobeying a traffic control device, wrong-lane driving, and underage alcohol consumption, and faces a Zero Tolerance DUI process.
