Car Crash Nebraska Today in Nebraska: Two Northeast Nebraska residents died after an early-morning head-on crash in Dakota County on Monday, June 29, 2026. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office says witnesses reported a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 77 when it collided with a 2022 Ford Edge at the intersection of 210th Street and Highway 77, south of Dakota City. The male driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 46-year-old woman from South Sioux City driving the Ford Edge was life-flighted to a Sioux City hospital, where she died from her injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
