Vehicle Fire Colorado Mesa Colorado in Colorado Mesa, Colorado: Three wildland firefighters were killed while responding to the Knowles Fire in western Colorado on Saturday. The U.S. Department of the Interior identified them as Emily Barker, 38, of Clinton Township, Michigan; Nick Hutcherson, 27, of Glendale, Arizona; and Sydney Watson, 27, of Warrior, Alabama. They were part of a Rifle Helitack crew working on the fire's initial attack. Two other firefighters were injured and are receiving medical treatment. The Knowles Fire has since merged with other fires into the Snyder Fire complex, which has burned more than 28,000 acres near the Colorado-Utah border.
