Vehicle Fire Grand Junction Colorado in Grand Junction, Colorado: Three wildland firefighters were killed on Saturday when they were overcome by flames while deploying tent-like emergency shelters during a rapidly escalating wildfire along the Colorado-Utah border, west of Grand Junction, Colorado. The victims were part of a specialized Helitack crew assigned to an interagency response to the fires; two others with them sustained burn injuries. Federal officials identified the dead as Emily Barker, 38, of Clinton Township, Michigan; Nick Hutcherson, 27, of Glendale, Arizona; and Sydney Watson, 26, of Warrior, Alabama. The deaths will trigger an investigation by the Forest and Wildland Fire services.
