Vehicle Fire Colorado Beaver Colorado in Colorado BEAVER, Colorado: Three firefighters assigned to the Rifle Helitack crew were killed on Saturday while battling the Knowles Fire in western Colorado along the Colorado-Utah border. The U.S. Department of the Interior said the firefighters deployed tent-like emergency shelters to shield themselves from flames and were overcome. Two other firefighters were injured and are receiving medical care. The fire has burned over 28,000 acres after the Snyder Fire merged with the Jones fire and overtook the Knowles and Gore fires.
