Vehicle Fire Colorado Today in Colorado: Three U.S. wildland firefighters were killed while battling the Knowles Fire near the Colorado-Utah border over the weekend, according to the U.S. Department of the Interior. The deceased were identified as Nick Hutcherson, 27, of Glendale, Arizona; Emily Barker, 38, of Michigan; and Sydney Watson, 26, of Alabama. All three were assigned to the Rifle Helitack crew. Two other firefighters were injured. A serious accident investigation team has been mobilized to review the circumstances of the incident. The Knowles Fire has since been merged with the Snyder and Jones fires into the Snyder Fire, estimated at over 28,000 acres.
