Texas deputy killed when commercial truck strikes DWI crash…

Car Crash The Woodlands Texas in The Woodlands, Texas: Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, was killed early Sunday morning, June 28, 2026, after a heavy-duty commercial truck pulling a trailer struck her while she was outside her patrol vehicle directing traffic around a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 45 in The Woodlands, north of Houston. The truck also hit two marked patrol vehicles with emergency lights activated, and another deputy was struck by debris and suffered minor injuries. Ashton Jammer, 34, one of the drivers involved in the original crash, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. The driver of the commercial truck was taken to a hospital, and the fatal crash remains under investigation.
