Dui Crash The Woodlands Texas in The Woodlands, Texas: A Texas deputy was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a commercial truck while responding to a crash on Interstate 45 in The Woodlands, north of Houston. Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were investigating a multi-vehicle DWI-related crash and directing traffic when a heavy-duty commercial truck pulling a trailer struck Deputy Erika Serrato outside her patrol vehicle and hit two marked patrol vehicles with emergency lights activated. Serrato, 24, was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries; another deputy suffered minor injuries from debris. One of the drivers in the original crash, 34-year-old Ashton Jammer, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, and the commercial truck driver was also hospitalized.
