Car Crash The Woodlands Texas in The Woodlands, Texas: A Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy was killed early Sunday morning when a commercial truck pulling a trailer struck her while she was directing traffic at a DWI-related crash scene on Interstate 45 in The Woodlands, north of Houston. Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, was outside her patrol vehicle and was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. The truck also hit two marked patrol vehicles with emergency lights activated, and another deputy suffered minor injuries from debris. Ashton Jammer, 34, one of the drivers involved in the original crash, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and booked into the Montgomery County Jail; the commercial truck driver was also hospitalized. The fatal crash remains under investigation.
