SUV crashes into Little Sunshines Day Care Center in Port C…

Car Crash Port Carbon Pennsylvania in Port Carbon, Pennsylvania: An SUV crashed through the wall of the Little Sunshines Day Care Center on Route 209 east of Port Carbon on Monday morning. Assistant Chief Ben Schuettler of Goodwill Fire Company No. 1 said none of the children onsite were injured because they were in a different part of the building at the time. First responders extricated the driver from the wreckage, and the driver missed a protective concrete barrier in front of the building by inches. The day care center, which received extensive damage to its front portion, remains closed pending a structural inspection, and the crash remains under investigation by State Police at Frackville.
