Shooting Newburgh New York in Newburgh, New York: Gunfire broke out around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, near Liberty Street and East Parmenter Street in Newburgh, leaving one person injured and possibly another hurt, with at least one victim taken to Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. Neighbors reported hearing seven or eight gunshots before seeing people running from the area. Police closed the block with crime scene tape to Washington Street as detectives photographed the scene and placed evidence markers. The shooting occurred across the street from George Washington's historic Newburgh Headquarters.
