Drowning Jacksonville Texas in Jacksonville, Texas: A Rusk High School student drowned at Lake Jacksonville Campgrounds after entering the lake to rescue his 5-year-old autistic cousin, who had drifted into deeper water on an inflatable flotation device. Jacksonville police said emergency crews were called to the campgrounds at around 2:31 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a drowning. The teen was unable to make it safely to shore after bringing the child back. Family members said he gave his life rescuing his cousin.
