Car Crash Lewes Delaware in Lewes, Delaware: A pickup truck driver suffered a medical emergency and lost consciousness on Savannah Road in Lewes, Delaware, striking several vehicles including the car in which U.S. Sen. Chris Coons was a passenger. Six people, including Coons, were hospitalized with minor injuries and treated at Beebe Healthcare. Lewes Police Chief Thomas Spell said there were no indications of impairment of the truck driver, who suffered a few broken ribs in the crash. Coons, 62, was treated for minor injuries and returned home the same day.
