Philadelphia man charged after SUV crashes into Port Carbon…
Car Crash Port Carbon Pennsylvania in Port Carbon, Pennsylvania: A 55-year-old Philadelphia man drove a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder erratically at unsafe speeds on June 29, 2026, forcing other vehicles off the roadway before leaving the road at the intersection of Washington Street (Route 209) and Wood Street in Port Carbon, Pennsylvania. The SUV struck a reinforced concrete bollard, became airborne, and crashed into the kitchen area of Little Sunshines Day Care at 61 Washington Street, where 22 children and four adult staff members were inside. All occupants were evacuated uninjured. The driver was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East for treatment; evidence of drugs was found in the vehicle and he consented to a chemical blood test. He was charged with one felony count of Causing Catastrophe, 26 counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, DUI involving a controlled substance, and multiple traffic offenses, and was held on $150,000 cash bail.
