Pedestrian struck and killed on FM 1541 in Randall County

Pedestrian Hit Texas Today in Texas: A 26-year-old Amarillo woman walking in the northbound lane of FM 1541, approximately two miles south of SL 335 in Randall County, was struck and killed by a northbound 1997 Lexus at 10:44 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the driver could not see the pedestrian in the roadway until it was too late. The pedestrian, Kayla Frizzell, 26, of Amarillo, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 40-year-old Amarillo resident driving the Lexus was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, and the crash remains under investigation.
