Car Crash Virginia Today in Virginia: A 2005 Coachman Encore recreational vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 77 in Carroll County, Virginia, went out of control, ran off the right side of the road, and struck the guardrail shortly after 2:20 p.m. on June 20, 2026. Passenger Gretchen H. Karcher, 70, of Versailles, Pennsylvania, was ejected and died at the scene. The driver, Ronald J. Winkler, 73, of Versailles, was not injured. Virginia State Police are still investigating the fatal single-vehicle crash, and a family dog that went missing after the wreck was later found and returned to the family.
