Dui Crash Texas Today in Texas: Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, was struck by a heavy-duty commercial vehicle pulling a trailer while directing traffic around a multi-vehicle crash near the Woodlands Parkway exit on Interstate 45 around 3 a.m. Sunday. Serrato was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the commercial vehicle, 20-year-old Ian Perez, was taken to a hospital and released shortly after, then charged with causing bodily injury with a vehicle for failing to slow down or move over for emergency vehicles. Another deputy was treated for minor injuries and released. Ashton Jammer, 34, was also arrested on accusations of driving while intoxicated and causing the initial crash that brought deputies to the scene.
