Assault Memphis Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee: A 47-year-old Memphis man, Mario Lambert, was charged with attempted first-degree murder after police say he brutally assaulted another man, leaving him with a severe brain injury. According to an affidavit, Memphis Police responded to an aggravated assault at a home in the 4000 block of Knob Drive in the Frayser neighborhood on May 19, 2026. The victim was dropped off at his girlfriend's home in the back of a white pickup truck and was taken to Regional One in critical condition, where he remained unconscious on a ventilator for about a month. The victim told investigators Lambert struck him in the head with a steering wheel lock, and the girlfriend later identified Lambert in a photo lineup.
