The incident occurred on Thursday near Number One Pond on Front Street, when the kids were riding bicycles downhill and allegedly blew through a stop sign, prompting the man, who was driving, to brake suddenly. He exited his vehicle, argued with the kids, threw one of the bicycles into the pond, and the argument escalated into a fight. The man left the scene before police arrived, according to Sanford Police Deputy Chief Matthew Gagne.
