Fall Injury Maine Today in Maine: A hiker was rescued Sunday morning after falling approximately 20 feet while traversing the Knife Edge near Pamola Peak on Mount Katahdin. The hiker sustained several injuries, including a serious open fracture to the lower leg. Park rangers reached and stabilized the hiker before lifting them off the mountain and transferring them to a waiting ambulance, with assistance from the Maine Forest Service.
