Freight train derails near Oil City in north Caddo Parish

Car Crash Oil City Louisiana in Oil City, Louisiana: Several railcars of a CPKC freight train derailed near Highway 1 just north of Oil City in north Caddo Parish early Monday morning around 6:12 a.m. A Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office patrol deputy discovered the derailment in the 13700 block of Highway 1. The affected cars remained upright, no injuries were reported, and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is conducting a law-enforcement review in coordination with CPKC Railroad's internal accident team.
