Durham man charged after striking two pedestrians in Burlin…

Pedestrian Hit Burlington North Carolina in Burlington, North Carolina: Jeron Ricole Robertson, 34, of Durham, was driving east on North Church Street at the intersection with Nike Drive in Burlington around 9:20 p.m. on June 20 when he struck two pedestrians crossing Church Street. Curtis Lee Ridgeway, 53, of Burlington, was pronounced dead at the scene. Kristie Williams Huffines, 55, of Burlington, was taken to a nearby trauma center and remains in critical but stable condition. Robertson was charged by criminal summons with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed, failing to secure a passenger under 16, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance identified as marijuana.
