Police say the crash occurred near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 6:20 a.m., when a caller reported that the driver of a BMW had fled the scene after a collision. A 60-year-old woman driving a Toyota Camry was found with serious injuries, and after the first collision the BMW struck a pedestrian who was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition and later pronounced dead. The BMW driver was not located at the scene but was later found at his home with serious injuries, taken to a hospital, and will be booked for hit-and-run and other charges once medically cleared.
